Kraków provided the setting for the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) General Conference at Jagiellonian University from 8 to 11 September 2026. During the final afternoon, Joan-Josep Vallbé presented "Exploring Assertiveness: How Institutional Architecture and Political Dynamics Shape Constitutional Court Behavior" in the panel Judicial Authority and Political Intent: Quantitative Approaches to Judicial Decision-Making. Co-authored with Kálmán Pócza, Gábor Dobos and Attila Gyulai, the paper examined how institutional features and government fragmentation combine in constitutional court decisions.
