We are excited to announce the official launch of the JUDICON-LA project, an ambitious international comparative research initiative dedicated to exploring the relationships between judicial institutions and legislative branches across Latin America. Funded by the Ludovika University of Public Service in Budapest, Hungary, this project aims to map the diversity of constitutional court decisions and measure their impact on legislative behaviour within the region.
Building on the success of the JUDICON-EU project, which examined 19 European jurisdictions, JUDICON-LA will focus on the unique judicial landscapes of Latin America. Our principal investigator, Kálmán Pócza, along with a dedicated team of scholars from several Latin American countries, will employ rigorous methodologies to address critical research questions.
Participants in this project include esteemed scholars from renowned universities, representing countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Their expertise will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the judicial constraints on legislatures.
Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this groundbreaking research journey to illuminate the interplay between judiciary and legislature in Latin America!
